Be nice

Compliment your students. Beyond telling them in class that they are the awesomest...notice their shoes or necklace. This is something that I used to be really bad at, but I think it makes a powerful difference.

    I agree. It makes a tremendous difference. Sometimes the compliment leads to other conversation which helps you to get to know your students better.

    And it so nicely models how to notice people and treat people. One of the greatest gifts we can share is how to give and to receive compliments.
